A New Hampshire contractor is being fined $18,000 for illegally removing and disposing of asbestos.

The American Civil Liberties Union raised concerns with a key legislator Wednesday over some police departments’ use of license plate scanning technology to retain and share massive amounts of data on ordinary, law-abiding citizens.
